Building Innovation Using Digital Twins + AI
Problem
Modern building design is highly complex with many detailed decisons to be made. Collaboration between architects, engineers, interior designers and GC's is problematic. After handoff, the facilities management needs to access data which is often unstructured.
Solution
A Digital Twin can help with all of these decisions by providing a photorealistic environment, accurate real time lighting and full simulation of the building operation. All of this can be viewed on a screen or in VR including collaboration in VR. Data, such as PDFs and drawings, can be connected to the twin and queried using Generative AI techniques.
1.
A detailed realistic twin of the building prior to construction enables more precise design decisions, helping to minimize costly rework and changes.
2.
VR-based walkthroughs, collaborations and simulations allow clients to fully visualize the building operation before construction. This helps prevent reworks and delays, ultimately saving both time and money.
3.
All the data associated with the twin can be attached to specific assets. PDFs, CAD files, drawings and images can all be searched using Generative AI. After handoff, BMS, maintenance, asset management systems can also be integrated.
